Just one of the photos from what I was preparing for the next post.
For details follow me on instagram, twitter and tumblr!
You can get updates there before anyone else on this blog.
I did a mini twist out with just shea moisture.
Turned out well.
I also wanted ti try my hand at doing lootd and ootd!
See you later!
So!
Okay, I am back trying to be on this blog again. I have fixed it up to make it reflect who I am NOW.
I mean, I started this blog in 2008 or something, and didn't change much until now. All I changed was the font and the banner (once)... This time, though it may seem as though I just changed up a few minor things. However... I fiddled around with a whole bunch of shit, to the point where - I am not even sure if it was fruitless or not..
...
Anyway, enough about the boring re-vamp nonsense. I mean, the only troubling thing is that I have changed my URL. Thus, everyone who had me on their blog as a link ...will have the wrong damn blog. So.. I probably should have thought that out. I was just so excited I didn't even think about it. You know? So, that is why I said "Started From The Bottom"..haha.
I used to blog from everywhere, the Library. The House. The bus. So I am going to try and do that again, mind you it is a little difficult cause Blackberry's browser is on some NEXT SHIT completely. Which brings me to how I want to operate this blog now that I am a YOUNG ADULT now. I will try my best to uh - not swear as much. You know, this blog is a reflection of me and who I am outside of a professional setting so I will work on not swearing as much as I used to. Maybe this blog will become a lot more presentable that way. I will attempt to use other words in the dictionary and thesaurus in order to express myself.
-sigh-

(Ehem..JAMAICA!..ehem.)

Hey hey heyy!!
Well, it is march break and I am not bored, but I feel like I do not have ENOUGH to do!! When I was in Ottawa I was always so busy, and now I barely have things to do. A friend and I went downtown yesterday to find a bunch of protesting Tamils all over the streets, which, not to be mean, ruined my day. Besides the fact that, it wasn't as warm as the weatherman said it would be. I bought a pair of sunglasses, carrot cake muffin, and we ate Harvey's. I had an original hamburger.
Yeah, I know, you don't care... but I just thought I would get that out of the way.
While I was downtown though, I noticed A BUNCH of people with dreads, and they were all long and neat!! It was like, they were all in hiding, and then came out of hiding once they saw everyone start loving on Wayne's or something.
It is sooo, odd.
Okay, so I snipped my hair a bit, after taking out the extensions and I have been sporting the curly fro type thing since. Photo? Alright...
yeah.. that was taken out of rushing out the door-ness.But you get it.
I have a feeling that I may end up waiting another month. I know what your thinking: You said you were ready, and two textures were queer, and you couldn't wait to get rid of the "crap"
well...I am only going to wait for one or two months to pass. If I cannot deal with it for two months, then the only option is to chop it off right? right. So it seems that I wasn't totally as ready as I thought I was, but I'l get there....haha. Aww, I hope no one is disappointed, but honestly it takes a bunch load of guts to do this sort of thing, especially if you're like me, you has never NEVER never had short short hair in her life.
Anyways....
There is not much else to say...
I passed through Kanye's Blog, and saw that Bat for Lashes has a new song, and peoples, I have like Bat For Lashes WAYY before Kanye made his admiration public, and I am very proud of this fact. Anyways, it's called 'Daniel', and if you want to watch the Music Video just plop yourself onto Kanye(ezzziies)'s blog. It is there. Actually, I will just post the video too...but you can still check it out there...
Daniel - Bat For Lashes
Bat for Lashes or FREKUM AWESOME, okay...they are the Cat's Pyjamas.
While we are on the sunbect of music, I will confess that back in the day i was a j-pop j-rock FAN to the the extreme and was in love with Naime Amuro's music...so now I will share her possibly new video: "Wild"...which kind of reminds me of Feedback by Janet Jackson, but let's not go there.
Wild- namie amuro -
Yup...
33 "followers" sweet, one is someone I know personally too...weird, but Sweet.
So, I'm going to get a move on now, just updating everyone on what is UPPERS with "I and I" or "Ianeye" or whatever the Rastafarians say....
you know what I am trying to say.
S'laters!

This is apparently called "Plopping".Plopping is a method of helping to create curl structure prior to diffusing or air drying.
As described by a member on NaturallyCurly.com, after you wash and condition your hair, you apply product to the wet hair and get ready to 'plop.' Put a t-shirt or towel down on a chair - some use the toilet with seat down. Leaning over the towel or t-shirt with your head hanging down bent over from your waist, position the wet hair onto towel so the curls are all concentrated on top of the head. Then pull the towel against the top and sides of the head, grabbing the 2 sides and twisting them into long ''sausage rolls'' near each ear. Take these rolled up towel extensions and pull them to the nape of the neck and secure them by tying them together, or tucking them in.
One reader said:
''Then I go about my morning routine — makeup, coffee, etc. The towel helps to absorb excess water while letting the curls 'set' into clumps. When you take the towel off, gently shake down the curls and diffuse 's' shaped, individual curly locks, with some volume at the roots."
If you want extra control, another member suggests spritzing on on some spray gel or scrunch in a bit more gel after you take the towel off.
So, I am guessing this only works with locs.
But there's the info whether you need it or not.
Lovers In Japan - Coldplay
This is a pretty great song, my friend (shout outs to nicholas!) pretty much forced me to listen to during class, turned off my lupe fiasco and everything. grr.
ANYWAY.
In gym class today, my gym teacher mentioned something interesting. Random, but interesting. He mentioned that our generation isn't a risk taking generation. We are not a generation that tries new things, without someone else to tell us or suggest it. He said:
"None of you, as a generation, have ridden a bike without a helmet"
"None of you, as a generation, have driven in a car without a seatbelt"
"Most of you, as a generation, haven't been beaten by your parents." (okay, i added that one)
Basically, he was trying to make a point that, we arrived in a time where consequences were known. Everything is basically done for us. Whether it be writing(computers), walking (cars), even spelling/dictionary findings (internet) which are all online for us to use at ease.
However...
I thought we were the generation of leasers...
I swear motivational speakers come to our school at least once a month to tell us how "we can be the change" or "we are the change" and shiz like that. CONFUSING MUCH?!?!
Also, some religion professor came to our school and gave our religion classes a 55 minute presentation about Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, and Islam.
It was really interesting, and when you really think about all of it, all our religions are the same in a way. I, in case you didn't know, am Muslim. I am not a major practising Muslim, even though i have officially stopped drinking as of JAN.1. Haha, if you go back back baaack to my older posts, you will see why. In case you forgot.
But yeah. I think the most interesting religions of them all was Buddhism and Hinduism.
The thing that blew my mind about Buddhism is that "Buddha" is actually a spiritual name, for anyone who can be completely aware that their reality is the Divine Deity's reality and the "you are not you...."
Apparently, once you realize that YOU are not YOU, you can live a life of total awareness and once you die, you can merge with the Divine. But if you cannot get it through your head that you are actually NOT YOU. You are reincarnated, in order to try and learn that you are not you.
Same with Hinduism.
In the western world, we have time lines. However in India, the time goes in a circle, which makes sense because everything is happening again like a circle. The professor said:
"Today is friday, and there was a friday last week..and I bet you any money, there's gonna be a friday next week, and a year from now."
I don't remember all of what he said....but all I know is...
Religion is crazy interesting.
DID YOU KNOW: Judaism has 613 commandments!??!
holay shit!
GOLD = wisdom & BURGUNDY= compassion for Buddhism
they wear those two colours as a symbol of having wisdom WITH compassion.
Sikhs wear a dullish knife under their clothing as a symbol of dignity and something else. So when you are faced with a horrid person, you shouldn't fight them with weapons.
Unless it is the weapon of Dignity and the other major thing that i forgot.
Geez.
Wow, even though today was rainy and blah, I learnt a shit load of interesting shit.

Before I begin...
http://www.naturalhairdigest.com/
tis pretty good.
Anyway.
I was on the bus Friday afternoon, going home from school.
I saw a girl, around my age, and her hair was B-E-A-YOUUUTIFULL
I thought is was fake at first, but then she bent her head, and there were definitely no tracks anywhere.
Her hair was natural and, it was probably straw set or something...but it was so pretty and hanging down almost to her shoulders.
I was jealous. haha.
But proud too.

New Growth: The Myth Slasher Series
By: Yardley Messeroux
Last month, I conducted a natural hair & beauty workshop for a young girl's program in Brooklyn, NY. The girls were pretty interested in the topic, but they weren't the only ones. At least 7 program staff members attended and were very vocal about their interest in natural hair. They had some good comments and questions, but it's when the topic of natural hair myths came up, was when things got real. All types of myths about natural hair were addressed—the texture and its characteristics, misconceptions of image, and even the –N– word, "Nappy". Information was provided that either confirmed, but mostly, contradicted the myths, and The Coil Review would like to share that information with you too!
The Myth Slasher Series of New Growth is a multi-part series that will feature myths that have lingered for way too long and need to be slashed onces and for all. Natural newbies, this is The Myth Slasher Series for healthy new growth--both hair and perspective.
The Myth: Natural hair is rough to the touch.
The Myth Slasher: True. Natural hair can feel rough to the touch if not properly maintained and nurtured. In a nutshell, keep your hair moisturized and conditioned and it won't feel rough. That was easy!
The Myth: Natural hair is tough by nature.
The Myth Slasher: False. Coily hair is the most delicate texture there is. The bends of each coil is a potential breaking point, so natural hair needs to be treated gently, with care.
The Myth: You must apply lots of grease to your hair and scalp for moisture.
The Myth Slasher: False. Grease is for cars, but not for the hair or the scalp. "Grease" usually refers to petroleum jelly-like products that people of color swear by for a dry scalp treatment. Let's break out of that people. Many petroleum jelly-like greases that are often called, hairdress, hair food or an oil based moisturizing conditioner, have synthetic/man-made lubricants such as mineral oil, petrolatum/petroleum. Those are cheap lubricants that give false hope of moisture, but will not truly deliver.
Preview to The Myth Slasher for March...
The Myth: People with natural hair are more eclectic than people that aren’t. Hmmm...

ON MY MIND @ zee MOMENT (Dont mind the white people...only one of then are my friend.the one with darker hair..lol)

The photo above is me on New Years Day ... early early in the morning, maybe at 1 something in the morning?
Yeah.
Never drinking again peoples.
I feel way better now though, i actually didn't have to puke forcefully, it didn't even end up happening. What i did was drink some sulfur bitters, as a way to clean out my system. I cannot believe it actually worked.
I thought i would put them up.. The photo above was a faux-hawk though, in case i didn't already say that.. i tend to repeat myself sometimes.
I need to stop that..it bores people.
when i find all of them i'll ad them to one folder so that its easy to upload..i like the easy routes.
Anyways:
its pretty easy to do, the faux hawk i mean. But in case people were wondering here is a step by step thingy:
THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO DO THIS...THIS IS NUMBER ONE
1) Wash Hair- This way when you do your bantu braids or chiny bumps its sort of easier to manage.
2) Part hair into workable sections
3) I take this time to oil my scalp with Triple Grow dry scalp treatment (its really god, and it actually works! no word of a lie!)
4) Start the chiny bimps. I like to make the center ones more smaller and defined than the others
5) I like to oil my scalp again between the bumps.
6) Wrap it up and go to bed.
7) Wake up and brush your teeth and put on your clothes first, cause i don't like when i try to pull a shirt over my head gently but still end up screwing up my hair...
8) Take out the bumps and the curls shall appear
9) Comb and brush up the sides however high you like.
10) Set the clips and pins to keep the hair in palce, you may need ALOT.
11) Spray it with sheen and hairpray.
DONE! =]
THIS ONE IS THE SECOND WAY TO GO ABOUT THE FAUX-HAWK...
1) Wash your hair.- so that its clean
2) Dry it and Oil your scalp.
4) Apply LEAVE IN CONDITIONER...
5) Brush/Comb through with a blow-dryer- this wait it gets straight-ish (not this is for transistioners...cause i am not completely natural yet..i should have mentioned that earlier eh?)
6) Relax for a minute
7) Start the bumpin' just like #4 in Part One.
8) Oil in between the bumps
9) WRAP IT UP and go to bed.
10) Wake up and blah blah..
11) Now if you used really nice slickin' conditioner when you take out your bumps they should sort of hang lose and freely and look really nice and smooth. Retro to da max, like the oldest sister from the cosby show. lol.
12) Sheen it....and hairspray is optional. I don't hairspray this one too much, cause i like when it looks nice and soft, not hard like a stone.
Bloobs.
