Decided to take a week off work in order to give myself a much needed break to work on my inner balance, prioritize my needs and get my life in order. The thing is - as much as money is super important;  I mean it gets you your foods, and other necessities (and unnecessities haha) - you can't let it tie you down from being happy and it's always healthy to take a nice and easy break. Be it a stay-cation, a real vacay or just 4-5 days off.

Today I felt awesome, woke up at 7AM and instead of wallowing in darkness at how cold it is outside and how unhappy I may feel - I decided to get up and make breakfast! This is easy for many, but not me. Being in a funk makes me super lazy and I end up starving myself and being grumpy. However, this morning...I said, I am going to fight this and do what makes me happy! Cooking, Music and my plants are easily accessible things that make me happy!

Last night I made Homemade DIY Makeup Brush Cleaner and I can honestly say I am impressed, so I can't wait to share that with you soon! Super easy and effective  - and economical, might I add for that #studentbudget.... With all the things you currently have in your home right now.YES RIGHT NOW IN YOUR HOME!

In any case, here's the songs I am absolutely loving this week..I plan to have these on repeat..

From the Bat For Lashes album: The Haunted Man

Sometimes I bounce between one genre to another and some artists to others... I always tend to revisit them later for nostalgic purposes - or I just heard they have new music. I have always had Bat For Lashes in my iTunes and iPod. Whether I will be listening to the music often, I make sure I have my favourite songs in there. So today I revisited
some BAT FOR LASHES. I found the music A LONG TIME AGO. Like, 2009 or something - who knows? I can't remember. Sometimes when I revisit some songs or artists I remember things I like about them and why I liked them and where I was in my life at the time I enjoyed their music. Unlike many artists I used to like in my freshmen high school year, Natasha Khan hasn't changed her approach to music at all.

I have just listened to the most recent album "The Haunted Man" & I will state that I am still a fan of Natasha Khan and the her approach to music. If you are wondering about the background info on this artist: Natasha Khan goes by the stage name " Bat For Lashes" and is a Pakistani/English singer-songwriter from London. The first song I ever heard from her was "Daniel" and from then on I got caught up with her previous works and onward. She hadn't released a new album until 2012 from 2009. So I guess I just didn't think she was up to a lot. Though now I do see that she had been touring with Coldplay and such - so she was crazy busy.

If you like artists like Coldplay, Radiohead, Bjork, Cat Power, Annie Lennox and the like - you will quite possibly fall in love with BFL. Cause... I love Bjork ...and I would definitely put these two in a playlist together.

What I am listening to right now from the new album?

Hope you enjoyed this little tidbit of information! Haha...

I will be grabbing this new album for sure.

Alright, I hate this shit to core right about now, and I think it is about time I come out with it and BLOG about how much this pisses me off.

JUST BECAUSE I'M BLACK DOESN'T MEAN I CAN'T ENJOY DIFFERENT GENRES!!

So the hell what if I listen to bands such as:
Kings Of Leon
Cancer Bats
Die Mannequin
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Bob Dylan
The NOISETTES
The Doors
The Kills
Pink Floyd
Billy Talent
Linkin Park
Avenge Sevenfold
THE LIST GOES ON...I am missing A LOT

Anyways, i enjoy some elctronica and shit too. JEBUS!
Like why is it such an issue, why is there so much that I HAVE TO DO in order to be officially BLACK or AFRICAN DESCENDED?!?
This is bull crap.

I will listen to my rock music and be damn happy about it!
I will also not eat many fried foods, drink Kool-Aid (though i LOVE kool-aid, thats jsut cause it tastes DAMN GOOD!) and not go gallivanting around in barely any clothes and be loud and obnoxious.

Shiz.

On to other things..
I have been diagnosed with HIF(hand in fro) syndrome.

It's terrible.

I can't get my damn hands out of my hair. And I absolutley love the defined coils, that are unfortunately hidden most of the times by the undefined coils. Grr. I need to invest in a denman, or at least a look-alike. I went and applied for a HELLUVA lot of jobs and...i'm not getting call backs. DAMNIT! I used to work at the FRICKEN Gap!
I should be getting jobs like THAT. I snapped my fingers just now, incase you couldn't hear that....which you prabably didn't.

And WHY AM I SO SHY!?!
There's this guy i thought was cute for about 3 years now, and thought he was so nice and all that buisness. So I just became friends with his good friend at school, and he just happends to be INTRESTED IN MOI! Thats right yall. I mean, I don't think he's seen me with my TWA - on account of we don't bump into eachother as much in the halls anymore, but if he doesn't like me with my TWA then he isn't worthy of my love. I'm prud of my TWA , and I don't give a damn if dudes nah like it.
- my jamaican accent right there-

What i ned to be doing is my laundry, my grandma's hair and cleaning my room and possibly my bathroom...since everything is a mess.
Agh, I have an Independant Study Project to do for Night School English (i didn't fail, i just want to upgrade my mark....).

Im such a procrastinator.

SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I gotta start on my shizz.
S'later!

Smiling Politely - Cancer Bats feat. Ben Kowalewicz

IT'S THE WEEKEND.

More specifically it is SATURDAY. I know that Sunday is supposed to be known as a day of ULTIMATE REST. But honestly, Saturday isn't the day I want to do shit.

I vacumed a bit.
I ate.
I searched new music.

I found new natural models.

Thats it for today.

It started to snow again, which means my spring cleaning is naturally post-poned. Not cause i want it to be, just cause it is.

HOWEVER!!
Just because I am lazy and limp, doesn't mean that the rest of you need to be that way too!
GO OUT! Get some fresh air, even if that means you're going to take a drive with the windows rolled down.

Go wash your car.
Go take photos of stuff.
Go learn a new recipe.
Eat out with a friend for dinner.
Nothing too expensive.
Watch a movie.
Rent a movie.

DO SOMETHING FUN.

I am going to attempt to clean the rest of my house, and be done by 6pm EST.
So that i can start my laundry and watch primetime television shows while I wait.

11:30pm EST is SNL.

Yep, my saturday is well planned out.
CANTFUCKINGWAITUNTILFUCKINSPRINGOHMAGAWD!!

I hate canada in the winter.
at least im not in montreal though.

Okay.

So, I was scrolling around for more natural models and such. Reflecting on my previous post on mainstream media and natural women or men. So if you all do not know, Amber Rose is that bald-headed chick from Luda's music video "I Know What Dem Girls Like" featuring woman-beater Chris Brown.

ANYWAYS...

So i was on some site called The Rap Up, and specifically on http://therapup.uproxx.com/2009/01/amber-rose-is-not-an-android.html. When I came across a few comments that shocked me: ( i tried to highlight the ones that got my attention)

4.	AbCents1983 Says: January 28th, 2009 at 1:48 pm Finally…she might convince some of these women to go natural for once in their lives. She’s sexy regardless of the length of her hair. She gets respect in my book.
5.	HHF Says: January 28th, 2009 at 8:21 pm Gee wilikers!!!!!!
6.	Bravo Says: January 28th, 2009 at 8:43 pm AbCents1983 Says: January 28th, 2009 at 1:48 pm Finally…she might convince some of these women to go natural for once in their lives. She’s sexy regardless of the length of her hair. She gets respect in my book. ^ Word Natural beauty > fake ass broad
8.	Hip Hop: Greatest Therapy In The World! « AlkaholiK KronikleZ Says: January 28th, 2009 at 11:27 pm [...] If you read this blog religiously thanks and bear in mind that every year I write one gay post and this may be the gayest since the KD* post and don’t expect another one. Since we’re all straight here check this out these pics. I love bald headed women. [...]
9.	k. video Says: January 29th, 2009 at 8:57 am A female would have to rock this look with confidence(I have a magazine article that states the same thing!). As a black male in my early 30s, this chick is sexy…i would scoop her up before most girls with (fake)long hair. She might start a trend…remember Zhane’.
11.	akaMike Says: February 7th, 2009 at 4:07 pm Man this girl is amazing looking! Short hair is a turn on for me.
12.	Blaqueknight Says: February 9th, 2009 at 12:21 pm Damn. Body for days. Beautiful as hell and blad headed. Is it just me or is this turning anyone else on???…

The only reason why it shocked me was because...

I didn't know how accepted natural hair actually was, though it was only like 3 comments, im sure there were probably more if I went to the next page of comments.
I was all like "Wowzers, I cannot believe these men are saying this"
Not that it really matters to me if dudes like it, but you have to admit, it is a tad nerve racking when there are people who may not get that your naturality is a beautiful thing, and criticise you.

<3

ONCE AGAIN...
Naturality in mainstream media.
