So I am swamped in book work OH MY GOSH! But oh well, I am trying my best here...
I've been doing a lot of retail therapy that I should not be doing... especially since I need a new laptop. But this week is the last week I am going to spend carelessly. Hopefully.

REGIMENS AND ROUTINES

HAIR
Hair style of choice right now is a twist out on damp/almost dry hair.
I spritz it and then use castor oil, and Shea butter to moisten. Then gel to twist and activate some curls. In the morning I take it out using my Universal Styling creme by Aveda. It is really the only way it comes in handy - other than taking out twists, braids and bantus it sucks. So I definitely recommend the Aveda Styling Creme if you want something to take your twists out or your braids out or your bantu knots out.
As for washing... I am still trying to get into being diligent about my hair regimen. However, I am trying to avoid products that work, but leave my hair in bad shape. Such as petroleum.... and calcium building products. I am possibly going to do a Baking Soda or ACV rinse.

As for my FACE...
Cold weather is here and I finally bought the Cleanse Off Oil by M.A.C. It fcking rocks my socks off, and it is so relaxing and makes taking off my makeup not so terribly tiring anymore! I use the double cleansing method. I wrote about tihs a long time ago on my other blog, which is pretty much NOT BEING USED.

1. Double cleansing —> 2. Massage & mask —> 3. Tone —> 4. Essence —> 5. Moisturize.

I have run out of Essence, however this is what I do....

1. Use the cleanse off oil to get rid of makeup

2. Cleanse again with a gel cleanser (it doesn't matter, but I prefer gel clensers. I go back and forth from Neutrogena , Nivea and St Ives... which is a cream cleanser and exfoliant)
3. Mask. (I do this once or twice a week)

4. Tone my face. I dont own a toner right now, so I am using the OFF YOUR FACE wipes by Soap&Glory
5. Essence and/or Rosehip oil massage.
6. Moisturizer. I use St Ives Collagen lotion or OLAY classic moisturizer ..

I may do a video if I am bored, and to illustrate these steps better. This is what I do at night though.

In the day:

1. Rinse/Wash my face with lukewarm/cold water

2. Pat dry.
3. Massage 1-2 drops of rosehip oil onto my face.
4. Optional: A little moisturizer before makeup routine.

That seems to be all for now. Have a great few days, while I bust my ass trying to get school work done!

Its been a while since I have re-dyed my hair....

I put my hair back a lot due to lack of time to style it... and I mostly do braid-outs

I had a lacefront for a week but hated it... the wind was too much for me! I used to do bantu-knot outs.... but the time it takes to do it is too much for me lately... so... yeah.

I really need to dust my ends, or do a full on TRIMMING! I haven't trimmed since August! -___-

That is all.

I waited anxiously for the damn weekend to arrive, and when it came around I was all smiles...
to find that my weekend sucked major ass, and now I cannot wait until monday to go to school and actually have somewhat of something to do.

-sigh-

I hope everyone else on earth had a better weekend than me.
Shit sucks.

I took out my kinky twists, cause they were looking janky. Then I went to a b-day jam(which soooked ass, and people couldn't dance if thier life depended on it!), since everyone liked it, I think I may keep it... though I kind of think its a bit big.
And I feel like E. Badu in this photo:

I don't know.

a lot of people liked it, and so do I.
However, I feel like I'm going to get looks.
HAHA, some dude thought it was my real hair, i was like "uh, no."

Before I begin...
http://www.naturalhairdigest.com/
tis pretty good.

Anyway.
I was on the bus Friday afternoon, going home from school.
I saw a girl, around my age, and her hair was B-E-A-YOUUUTIFULL
I thought is was fake at first, but then she bent her head, and there were definitely no tracks anywhere.
Her hair was natural and, it was probably straw set or something...but it was so pretty and hanging down almost to her shoulders.

I was jealous. haha.

But proud too.

New Growth: The Myth Slasher Series
By: Yardley Messeroux

Last month, I conducted a natural hair & beauty workshop for a young girl's program in Brooklyn, NY. The girls were pretty interested in the topic, but they weren't the only ones. At least 7 program staff members attended and were very vocal about their interest in natural hair. They had some good comments and questions, but it's when the topic of natural hair myths came up, was when things got real.

All types of myths about natural hair were addressed—the texture and its characteristics, misconceptions of image, and even the –N– word, "Nappy". Information was provided that either confirmed, but mostly, contradicted the myths, and The Coil Review would like to share that information with you too!

The Myth Slasher Series of New Growth is a multi-part series that will feature myths that have lingered for way too long and need to be slashed onces and for all. Natural newbies, this is The Myth Slasher Series for healthy new growth--both hair and perspective.

The Myth: Natural hair is rough to the touch.
The Myth Slasher: True. Natural hair can feel rough to the touch if not properly maintained and nurtured. In a nutshell, keep your hair moisturized and conditioned and it won't feel rough. That was easy!

The Myth: Natural hair is tough by nature.
The Myth Slasher: False. Coily hair is the most delicate texture there is. The bends of each coil is a potential breaking point, so natural hair needs to be treated gently, with care.

The Myth: You must apply lots of grease to your hair and scalp for moisture.
The Myth Slasher: False. Grease is for cars, but not for the hair or the scalp. "Grease" usually refers to petroleum jelly-like products that people of color swear by for a dry scalp treatment. Let's break out of that people. Many petroleum jelly-like greases that are often called, hairdress, hair food or an oil based moisturizing conditioner, have synthetic/man-made lubricants such as mineral oil, petrolatum/petroleum. Those are cheap lubricants that give false hope of moisture, but will not truly deliver.

Preview to The Myth Slasher for March...
The Myth: People with natural hair are more eclectic than people that aren’t. Hmmm...

ON MY MIND @ zee MOMENT (besides: so happy uncle bought food! just he forgot the milk...)
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

So, I have changed my mind about my big chop day.
For those who don't know, i was planning to BC in after about a year, because i'm afraid of the length issue, and i d not want to look like my father. So i'm changing the date to MARCH.22.2009!

Thats right folks!

I decided that 03/22/09 would be a good time to do it because:
1. the weather gets nicer
2. my hair would be at an alright length.
3. i wouldn't have to deal with the 2 texture TERROR for a year.

Gosh, i hate this 2 texture thing...like before i thought it was cute, but now its just getting RIDONKULOUS!
And there's a lot of relaxed ends too! My hair isn't very very long, its medium....but ther is A LOT of hair on this head, and its thick. So my hair relaxed was thick and tricky enough, but now imagine that thick relaxed hair mixed with THICKER NAPPY HAIR!!!

ITS TORTURE!!

I refuse to go through this bullcrap for a year! I just want to cut it now!
But the weather is too cold for short hair right now...(mind you, i hate wearing extensions..i rather just wear MY hair) i mean i live in CANADA..

Though it isn't the coldest location (thank allah!), it is COLD enough!

So anyway...

This B.C date is top secret...eventhough i just revealed it to the worldwide web, it is still very TOP SECRET!
I haven't told anyone in my family or friend circle, so ... when i do it it's going to be like BAM!
Caue they were all telling me not to cut it right away like:

"let it grow sharifa...."
"wait till prom THEN cut it"
and so on and so forth.

But they obviously are not comprehending that having 2 textures are KILLING ME right now!
Infact you shouldn't even be surprised if i change the date from March 22 to Feb 22...sometimes we get an early spring...depending on groundhog day.

Thats it then, i just thought of this:
GROUNDHOG DAY WILL BE THE DAY I DECIDE TO GO FROM MARCH 22 TO FEB 22!
If the ground hog stays out of his hole, i change to feb 22.
If he goes back into his hole i wait till March 22.

Haha, does it sound that ridiculous?
yes?

GOOD! CAUSE IT CAN'T BE AS RIDONKULOUS AS THIS 2 TEXTURE TRAVESTY!
I mean how can they say going nappy isn't cute? HAVE THE NOT SEEN WAKEEMA HOLLIS!
Probably not.
I didn't know about her until i started transitioning.
However, now she has become my inspiration..
